This book is the research I conducted for the Master of Design degree at Auckland University of Technology in 2018.

I have explored personal narrative and storytelling through the recreation of a historical children’s tale, The Emperor’s New Clothes. Designing this picture book has provided opportunities to research illustration, layout and narrative traits such as ‘voice’ in relation to memory.

This project has involved adapting Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale through the lens of my abiding love of children’s fairy tales.
